My name is Michelle.
I am a drug and alcohol counselor and this profession chose me.
I offer counseling services to those who are seeking support.
I work with people wanting to address their substance use disorder.
Where I really shine is supporting friends and family.
Please use this website to find resources that may help you,
whether it is counseling, education, or advocacy.
I imagine that if you are here right now, addiction, substance use disorder and/or mental illness has impacted you in some way and you are seeking support. We all have different stories about how this began in our lives, whether it is dealing with an alcoholic parent, a loved one or our own unmanageable addiction.
Awareness of needing help is the first step and reaching out is such a brave act. Healing is big work, but you are capable and you are not alone, even if it feels like you are.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve learned that long term recovery depends on the enduring support of family, friends, the recovery community, education, and skilled professionals.
I believe, wholeheartedly, there is not just one way to heal and recover, but both are possible and happen every day.

Friends and Family Support Group Online

A drop in support circle for people wanting support around their loved one’s addiction and recovery.
Friends and Family is a weekly, ongoing group providing a supportive environment and an opportunity to share with others, create connection and begin their own process of healing.
SERVICES
We are beings of Mind, Body and Soul and we incorporate that into our sessions together.
~ I work with individuals, couples and families.
~ We typically do 1 hour counseling sessions. Depending on personal needs, it can be walking, sitting outdoors, telephone or via zoom.
~ I support loved ones in dealing with the impacts of addiction.
~Ongoing weekly support groups. Mom’s of addicts. Family and Friends support group.
~Compassionate interventions (this is with a team including others in recovery).
~I also support those wanting to address their own addiction.
~ Assessment, determining and guiding the implementation of treatment goals and plans around your substance use.
~Consultations and support about local resources for recovery.
WHAT TO EXPECT
~Learning practical coping skills such as mindfulness, meditation and journaling are some approaches but it is always centered around your personal needs.
~Learning to develop clear, healthy boundaries and self-care is part of the work you will do.
~Being seen and heard is a basic human need. One you can count on in every session.
~Fees are based on a sliding scale. I am currently not set up to accept insurance.
~ Every interaction is confidential.
